Saltwater Nation anglers have just alerted us to a great event that was held this past weekend on South Padre Island, Texas: The South Padre Island Walk for Women 8th Walk for Women Bay Fishing Tournament. The tournament was just one part of a weekend full of fundraising and awareness-raising events. We hear that a number of nice trout and redfish made it to the weigh in, but we have no information about who ended up winning the tournament. Truth be told, this is one of those events that identifying the winners and their catches seems less important than acknowledging the importance of events like this.
