ITV News has picked up a story out of Australia about two fishermen who were rescued on Saturday after spending 15 hours clinging to a cooler in the ocean after their boat sank off the state of New South Wales, Australia.

The men, aged 25 and 34, took to the water after issuing a mayday and abandoning their sinking 18-foot cabin cruiser. Australian emergency services, the Royal Australian Air Force and locals searched for the pair following their mayday call and were spotted by a helicopter Saturday morning.

We have not received word yet as to the brand of cooler responsible for saving the men’s lives, but we will be ordering one as soon as we do. Likewise, video taken of the rescue does not confirm whether or not the cooler was taken aboard the rescue helicopter or left adrift.  You can watch the video of the rescue here: http://www.itv.com/news/2013-12-21/pair-holding-on-to-ice-box-for-15hrs-rescued-from-ocean-in-australia/

Props to the Australian emergency services, the Royal Australian Air Force and locals involved in the search and rescue.
