The National Marine Fisheries Service will host a public webinar and conference call on May 15, 2013 to address the Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Recreational Fishing Plan which had initially been introduced in December, 2011. the plan addresses Atlantic tunas, sharks, billfish, and swordfish. The webinar is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m and will begin with a brief presentation about NMFS activities. The webinar agenda includes discussions about improving recreational fishing opportunities for the species addressed in the Fishing Plan, including information about data regarding numbers of fish caught and recreational fishing participation. NMFS will also present information about social and economic characteristics of fishermen efforts to keep in touch with recreational fishermen.
