Crocodile Bay Resort on the Osa Penninsula in Costa Rica has a reputation for getting fish to the boat, but a couple of days ago they posted the video embedded below to YouTube showing that sometimes the fish may come more willingly than expected.
Crocodile Bay Resort, Costa Rica promotes sustainable catch and release fishing for Pacific sailfish and marlin, including keeping the fish in the water for photographs. So when this sailfish flipped over the transom into the cockpit, the Crocodile Bay anglers found themselves in a rather rare situation.
Fortunately, the crew responded and was able to safely release the sailfish. Two members of the fishing party did end up in the drink during the mayhem, but remarkably no one was hurt. Our kudos to the Crocodile Bay Resort crew for handling the situation so well and for posting the video so we can all enjoy the moment.
