Is Your Anchor Naked? Try the AnchorSuit

If you own a boat, then you might be like me when it comes to your anchor. I want it out of the way, stored, and secured so it won’t chip the gelcoat on my boat, slam into gear, or cause tripping or foot injuries. While I have an anchor locker, the anchor can still bang around inside this compartment, and sometimes I don’t want to necessarily put the anchor away if making a short run to another spot.

Welcome aboard, AnchorSuit.

This nifty product, made by the eponymous company AnchorSuit, provides a covering for your fluke anchor when not in use. The AnchorSuit is made from 3mm neoprene with a generous nylon zipper. As you can see from the photos, the zipper is full length so the chain and rope can remain attached, and the outside buckle can help secure the rope. The AnchorSuit contains ventilation ports as well to help drying.

The anchor suit comes in three sizes: small (#3-#7 anchors), medium (#8-#9 anchors), and large (#11-#13 anchors). Although designed for fluke anchors, AnchorSuit’s website lists a few other models that may fit as well.

We hope to get our hands on an AnchorSuit soon and provide a more detailed Gear Review.
