New Scientist Magazine has posted an incredible video clip showing how sailfish catch their prey along with a really interesting article about sailfish hunting strategies.
As part of their weekly Zoologger column, which highlights information about different animals, the article about sailfish hunting examines research conducted by Paolo Domenici of the Institute for the Marine and Coastal Environment in Oristano, Italy. Domenici and his colleagues used high-speed cameras to film sailfish hunting off of Mexico. The article is well worth reading, and the video well worth watching:
