The Saltwater Nation has eagerly been awaiting the start of the 2014 Atlantic Grouper season, and the wait is over. Beginning tomorrow, May 1, 2014, anglers can keep grouper within the limits of state and federal regulations.
There is a 3 grouper aggregate set limit. Gag and black grouper must be 24 inches to the tail. Limits are set at up to 1 gag or black within the 3 grouper aggregate. Red, Scamp, Yellowfin, and Yellowmouth grouper must be 20 inches to the tail. Up to 3 of these grouper may be taken in the overall 3 grouper aggregate limit.
Monroe County and the Florida Keys fall under the Atlantic management regulations.
