Scout Boats Expanding

According to a press release issued by the South Carolina Department of Commerce yesterday, Scout Boats, Inc. is investing $2.5 million to expand its Dorchester County facility. The investment is expected to create 300 jobs and will expand Scout’s 182,000-square-foot facility by an additional 30,000 square feet. The expansion can be attributed to domestic and international customer demand.

The expanded factory in Summerville will build composite parts for newly designed LXF series (the 275LXF, 300LXF, 320LXF, 350LXF, 380LXF and 420LXF models) and component parts for the new 275 & 320 Dorado series. And let’s face it: the Dorado series dual console models are great family fishing boats, and the LXF center console series is a remarkable design in boats. the 350LXF and new 420LXF are fishable, comfortable, and flat out beautiful. The hardwood detail is more than stylish.

Scout Boats, which was founded in 1989 by President and CEO Steve Potts, has rapidly become one of the premiere names in luxury sport fishing boats around the world. In addition to excellent design and construction, Scout has proven to be a growing name in the industry through innovations like its partnering with Garmin and Mastervolt this past February to  develop CZone vessel operations controls, which were first introduced in the 350LXF.
