The Trinidad Guardian is reporting that Angler Brendan Bernard broke the Southern Caribbean Billfish Circuit (SCBC) marlin record today with a 1,005.9lb marlin. Bernard was fishing aboard the Predator in the Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament. Last year, Bernard, won the T&T Game Fishing Association’s Wahoo Tournament with a 75.5 pound wahoo. Bernard and the other Angler’s on the Predator will receive a Mercedez Benz B-class (valued at $300,000), which was designated for the first angler in the tournament to bring in a grander. The tournament, which began in 1995, had yet to have a marlin over 1,000 pounds registered.The crew of the Predator received a $50,000 prize, as well.
