REMINDER: The recreational red grouper season in Gulf of Mexico federal waters will close on Saturday, October 4, 2014. The federal season will remain closed until December 31, 2104

Federal waters are considered to be waters beginning at 9 nautical miles from shore and extending to approximately 200 nautical miles from shore.

Gulf state waters will remain open for red grouper recreational harvest.

Keep in mind that Florida regulations indicate a bag limit of four fish within the four-grouper aggregate. In federal waters the limit is three red grouper within the four-grouper aggregate.
