Inshore Fishing Association
The Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) has joined with the Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) to host a college fishing event for interested student anglers. The event is set for March 8 at Punta Gorda, Florida, and will feature a two-person team format. The tournament will operate out of Laishley Park (120 Laishley Park Court, Punta Gorda, FL 33950).
The event will focus on redfish and the IFA highly encourages all interested anglers and teams to pre-register by phone in advance to avoid late registration fees. Registration is available by calling 478-836-4266.
All college anglers will need to check in on Saturday, March 7 at the IFA weigh-in trailer located at Laishley Park from 5-6 p.m. with a rules meeting to immediately follow. Take off is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. Sunday with anglers returning to Laishley Park for the weigh-in set to begin at 2 p.m.
“We’re proud to partner with the IFA and create events like this,” said Wade Middleton, president of CarecoTV and co-founder of the ACA. “When it comes to saltwater competition for college anglers, there’s nothing else out there. We’re excited to help bring this event to life.”
“We’re looking forward to working with the ACA,” added IFA Marketing Director Bart Schad. “It’s a great opportunity to reach up and coming tournament anglers and should be an amazing event.”
“We are very excited to continue to work with the Student Angler Federation to help build the foundation of our Inshore Fishing Series across the country,” stated IFA Tournament Director Eric Shelby. “We think this gives us a terrific platform to help grow our series as well as create a host of new opportunities for collegiate anglers.”
