The months of May and June mark Florida’s prime Tarpon season. From the Keys to Jacksonville on the east coast and from Ten Thousand Islands up to Boca Grande, Homosassa, and up through Big Bend, May and June are Silver King season in the Sunshine state. We’ve been getting reports from anglers across the Saltwater Nation reporting schools of tarpon daisy chaining on the flats off of the Keys and in the channels and cuts of South Florida. It’s still a bit early for North Florida anglers to be seeing the fish, but they will be making an appearance soon. Though Last year’s season at Homosassa was a bit slow, from what we’ve seen and heard, the Saltwater Nation anglers anticipating this year’s season expect things to be pretty good. We have also been hearing of good catches around Punta Gorda. If you’re interested in stalking the Silver King, now is the time to start your quest.
