In its ongoing commitment to preserve natural fisheries and ecosystems for future generations, Mud Hole Custom Tackle is, again, joining forces with Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Florida, supporting its East Coast Redfish Restocking Initiative: ‘Release the East.’ Following CCA Florida’s successful efforts along Florida’s West Coast, and borne out of drastic declines in redfish stocks in the East Coast’s Indian River Lagoon, Mud Hole is contributing to Release the East with financial consideration, employee volunteer groups and
activities related to the raising and releasing of supplementary redfish stocks.
“Mud Hole’s partnership with CCA Florida continues to grow and is extremely important to our
environmental focus,” said Scott Gimbert, Mud Hole Vice President and redfish enthusiast.
“Fishery conservation is a key pillar in our commitment to support the angling community. We
are excited to continue providing critical resources as an integral part of such an important CCA
initiative.”
To ensure healthy East Coast populations, phase one of the Release the East initiative pledges to
raise and release 100,000 hatchery-reared juvenile redfish from the Duke Energy Mariculture
Center. Not only does this help provide for a balanced and vigorous ecosystem, it also safeguards
that sportfishing in the Indian River Lagoon will be enjoyed for decades to come.
“Redfish are an essential species to our state and we must work together to conserve this fishery
for the next generation,” CCA Florida Executive Director Brian Gorski said. “We’re honored to
have Mud Hole Custom Tackle join forces on the Release the East initiative. In partnership with
Duke Energy, our efforts will support the health and sustainability of one of Florida’s most
iconic fisheries.”
CCA Florida and Mud Hole continue to partner on a variety of conservation and fundraising
projects to benefit habitat restoration and fulfill a long-term vision of ensuring the health and
preservation of our marine resources. For more information about Mud Hole’s participation in the

state chapters, CCA Florida became the fifth state chapter in 1985. A 501(c)3 non-profit, the
purpose of CCA is to advise and educate the public on conservation of marine resources.

Florida works with its over 18,000 members including recreational anglers and outdoor
enthusiasts to conserve and enhance marine resources and coastal environments. Join the
