Gary Kirk, a 49-year-old brick layer from Gorleston in the U.K. was on holiday in Madeira recently when he hooked and landed a massive 800-pound blue marlin. Fishing out of Calheta Harbour on the South West coast of the Portuguese archipelago, Kirk fought the fish for just over an an hour and a half before bringing it to the transom. Unfortunately, the fish died during the fight and could not be released, but it was donated to local charities.
Congratulations to Gary Kirk on an amazing catch.
