The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will meet tomorrow and Friday (September 5-6) in Pensacola at the Crown Plaza Pensacola Grand Hotel.

There are a number of items on the agenda for this meeting of particular interest to the Saltwater Nation, including action items pertaining to Boca Grande Pass tarpon fishing gear; updates from the Gulf of Mexico Fisheries Management Council about red snapper, mackerel, cobia, red drum, and data collection; and updates from the South Atlantic Fisheries Management Council about red snapper, other snapper grouper species, mackerel, cobia, deep water shrimp and corals, dolphin, and wahoo. Other agenda items include discussion regarding federal consistency in gulf grouper policies and in policies regarding Atlantic vermilion snapper, discussion of removing the blue-runner from the federal snapper-grouper fishery management plan, and exemptions from licensing and permits.  For a detailed agenda, link here.
