Congratulations to Gene Jones of Bellevie, IA who won the 2013 Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby with a 236.2-pound halibut. Jones landed the fish on July 25, 2013 fishing with Captain David Bayes aboard the Grand Aleutian with Central Charters. Jones’ fish earned the grand prize of $21, 281.50.

This year’s tournament also saw a record 29 tagged fish caught, including one caught by Monique Peters of Willow, Alaska that won the sponsored prize of a Ford F-150.
