There’s a new product coming out of Canada that re-thinks modular integration in fishing tools. The Kombo combines a fish club, a cleaning scoop, a filet knife, and a knife sharpener all in one tool. We’re not sure that the Kombo is going to reach the level of multi-tool fame as the Swiss Army Knife or the Leatherman, but it is certainly worth anglers’ attention.

 

 

 

The Kombo’s fish “Bonker” is made from a sturdy construction plastic and is designed as an efficient and clean way to kill your catch.

The end of the Kombo handle is molded as a scooper for gutting fish.

The Kombo also includes a 420 stainless steel filet knife that is made from general purpose, heat-treated chromium steel–a form of cutlery-grade steel. The knife blade is safely concealed inside the club portion of the tool and locks in place using a patent-pending locking mechanism.

To compliment the filet knife, the Kombo also has a knife sharpener built into the club end of the tool.

All in all, the Kombo is an interesting entrant into the fish tool market.
