New Product Introduction: Lamiglas “Paco” Kayak Series Rods

copy-of-lamiglaslogoblackLamiglas has introduced a new series of rods designed for kayak anglers. The “Paco” Kayak Series is made up of six models rods made of pure graphite or graphite/fiberglass composite constructions. Of these six, five are spinning models and one is a heavy-duty casting model. Designed by “Paco” Ernandez, these rods feature concentrated tip action and strong backbones.

Three of the spinning models, made with all-graphite blank construction, are 7’2″ in length with polished graphite finishes. These three models are designed with freshwater angling in mind, but their size and action also make them ideal for inshore anglers, as well. These three models have fast actions and their tips provide great action in castability.dsc_3305-1024x683

The 4-10 model is a nimble rod designed to cast 4-10-pound line and handles lures of 1/8-3/4 ounces. Even with its flexibility, though, the model has a surprisingly strong backbone. It is a great light tackle rod for smaller species.

The 6-15 medium-light rod is designed to handle smaller inshore fish. The tip has a parabolic bend that transitions into a solid backbone. The rod offers substantial sensitivity and strength.

The 8-17 model has a lure rating of 3/8-3/4 ounce and is probably the most versatile of the Paco Kayak Series. It’s designed for a range of fishing scenarios.

The PK7020 model is built for inshore anglers; it’s tip designed with a powerfully quick response. It is rated for 10-20 pound line.

The PK7030S model may be one of the most dynamic saltwater rods ever developed specifically for kayak anglers. Strong enough for offshore species and flexible enough for lighter inshore angling, this model offers plenty of strength and control in the 15-30 pound line class.

The Lamiglas “Paco” Kayak Series also includes one conventional casting rod, the PK7040C. This 7-foot bait casting rod is built for strength.

All of the Lamiglas kayak rods feature Graphite and Composite blank sections, shortened graphite handle sections with durable butt-caps, strong EVA foam grips, and 270-pound tensile strength heavy-duty leashes for connecting to lanyards. The rods’ shorter rear-grip affords anglers more leverage when fishing in the confines of yak space. The built-in lanyard leash is a smart addition for protecting rods on a yak. dsc_3309-442x294
