Inventive Fishing loves when we hear from other members of the Saltwater Nation about their own fishing tips.
As part of a regular series, Captain Judd Wise of the “Lil” Butt Nakid and Team Wise Fishing will provide a weekly fishing tip based on his years of fishing out of Fort Myers and Key West. Enjoy.
Anglers,
Do you find it a pain to take the line off your reel? Here is a simple solution if you have a hand-held drill. Set your reel down facing you and open the bail. Take your hand-held drill and put in a 1/4 inch drill bit. Take an old Gatorade or water bottle and drill into the cap. With some heavy tape, such as duct tape, tape the drill bit to the top. Tie the line around the bottle and put your drill in reverse and slowly pull the trigger. Viola, the line comes off easily and you can then recycle it. But think about this: sometimes we take all the line off when we really may only use 100 or so yards when actually fishing. If that is the case, just tie a line-to-line knot and you will save time and money on respooling.
