Inventive Fishing loves when we hear from other members of the Saltwater Nation about their own fishing tips.
As part of a regular series, Captain Judd Wise of the “Lil” Butt Nakid and Team Wise Fishing will provide a monthly fishing tip based on his years of fishing out of Fort Myers and Key West. Enjoy.
Anglers,
Many of us are now using braided line. Braided line is very expensive versus mono. To keep your braided line in good working condition I recommend that every two months or so take your spool off your reel and soak your line in a bucket of warm water for about 20 minutes. This helps take any salt off the line. Just put your spool back on your reel and you are ready to go. If you are worried about your spool, then you can go back the way I told you how to take the line off with your drill and an old water or Gatorade bottle. Then you soak the bottle by putting holes in it to sink. When 20 minutes are up, tie the line back on to your spool and re-spool.
